We saw a movie called Edward Scissorhand in class today. The movie is from 1990 and is an American romantic fantasy film. The movie is directed by Tim Burton and Johnny Depp plays the main character. If you go on reading, it will write a little bit about the action in the movie and my personal opinions. I will also write a little bit about a theme that you can experience in the movie.
Edward movies in with a suburban family. Edwrad is different from the other people. He is a robot and has no hands. His hands are made of scissors and he has never ever been around normal people. His "father" (the one that made him) died and he was left alone in a castle. So Edward lived alone for a really long time, until he moves in with this family. He falls in love with their teenage daughter, Kim. Edward is very kind and do not mean to hurt or scare anyone, but his scissorhand makes this very difficult.
I think the movie was very special and it is not my kind of movie. If you like a little old, mysterious romantic fantasy movies, this is the movie for you.
Edward
We also had to choose a theme from the movie and write about that theme. It chose the theme "being different". I chose this theme because Edward is different, really different from the other people in the movie.
Some people don't like to blend in, they like being different. But I believe most people just like to blend in. Be normal, so you can live your life whitout any wired looks or anything. And if you are different and want to blend in, you just want to be normal, being different can be very hard. The best thing to do is perhaps to accept that everything is what it is, and that you propably can't do anything about it. I think the best thing is to try to be as brave as you can and try to not care about what other people does.
I think you offer some good advice here. Sometimes you just have to make the best of what you have. Edward certainly does. I'm sorry you didn't like the film. I hadn't seen it before, but I really enjoyed it, and it made me think.
